This 2008 election has made history! It's the first time a woman and an African American has been so close to the white house. After completing my absentee ballot last week, I felt very excited. This is my first time voting and it's something I would be able to tell my children and grandchildren. This is so amazing!
I voted for Barack Obama. One major issue that's happening in the world today is the war in Iraq. Obama disagrees with the war and promises to remove the troops within 16 months of taking office. Unlike Obama, John McCain supports and want to keep the troops there until the war is won. It's a very crazy plan because look at all of the troops we have lost over the years.
Health care is another important issue. Obama plan to have health care coverage mandatory for children. He would also require more employers to either offer a type of plan to help pay for employee cost or pay into a national health care network. If elected into office, McCain would rely more on individuals and the free market to lower costs, while Obama would rely on the government to make health care coverage more affordable. With savings, Obama would require companies to automatically enroll their employees in 401 (k)s. He wants the government to expand low and middle income workers' savings. To accomplish issue, Obama plan to increase some companies' taxes in a few ways.
The president of the United States is not the only important individual coming into office. What about the Vice President? John McCain's vice, Senator Sarah Palin, doesn't have enough knowledge about McCain's plans to become Vice President. During the Vive President's debate, Palin was not answering the questions being asked to her. She would just things that would sound correct. There also were times when Obama's vice, Senator Joe Biden, correct Palin when she mentioned incorrect names. That was really embarrassing on Palin's behalf. If McCain would become President and something happened that required Sarah Palin to take his position, she wouldn't know how to run a country. Point it, Barack Obama would be the best candidate for President of the United States. On November 4th we can make that happen.

I has been very historic!!! You've written a very nice, and clear defense of your position here. Good job!
Plus, you added your own voice to your thoughts and opinions. I like that.
